I have a Hp Pavillion A 1710n with Windows Vista and using Broadband Msn I was looking around in the entertainment part of MSN and it said something about recording Tv so I tried and it said I needed to adjust my Tuner ? I dont even know if I have one lol can someone tell me if my computer usually has one and if not how to I get one and install it thanksWatching TV on the Computer?
Most likely you do not have one integrated.

You can buy an USB tuner.

Such as the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950

Some will have analog, others have over the air HDTV digital, or QAM HDTV Signal.

Do a search at Amazon or buy.com or newegg or HP's website for USB TV TUNER. Most Media Center programs do not support the QAM HDTV,

Use http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.asp鈥?/a> to see what it would take to receive over the air HDTV digital signals.

Vista Premium and Ultimate have Windows Media Center, which allows you records the tv programs.

Here are some helpful websites.

ehhhhhhh...
Most computers dont come with a TV tuner. Do you see a Coaxial (regular Cable TV cable) connection point on the back of your computer? If no then you don't have a tuner.

You need to purchase a TV tuner then you can watch TV on your pc. There are USB tuners available now so installation wont be an issue even if you dont know what a TV tuner is.
if it isnt already a part of your internal hard drive you dont have one
You dont....

is there a coaxial hook up in the back if so you have one. if its a new puter call tech support
sorry. i don't see the tv tuner as an option in this model. you'd have to buy a card or a usb device to get it probably.
Look on the back side of your computer for an antenna input just like the one on your TV. If you find one this means you have a TV tuner inside your computer. If you don't, it's pretty simple to install one.

First of all, make sure you have a free PCI or USB port on your motherboard. I recommend you to get a PCI TV tuner: they work faster and better.

Buy a TV tuner that plugs into an PCI or USB port (dependig which is free on your computer) and connect it to the proper port and also connect an antenna so you are sure you have a signal. Then install the drivers (if the driver CD doesn't contain a setup program, let ';Windows'; install the drivers). Restart your computer, set the channels and it's done: you can watch TV on your computer.

To record a show, you'll probably need a capture software. ';VirtualDub'; does a great job and it's completly free, so use it to capture, record and edit your video files.

I hope that helps you. I wish you all the best!
no, u don't have a tv turner, hp computer look nice, but their performance ain't so good. tv turners are usually sold separately.

when i bough my computer, i was excited about that too, because vista comes with that feature, but u have to pay for the tv turner!!!!
